Glenmere Mansion

Built-in 1911 as the country retreat of industrialist Robert Goelet, Glenmere is much more than just a world-class spa. It is truly a destination. Boasting its own helicopter landings availability, “Today, Glenmere is a luxury escape, ready to host the contemporary guest in modern comfort while offering an irresistible opportunity to turn back the pages of time to a more graceful, gracious way of living.”

The Spa at Glenmere is as luxurious as the rest of the mansion with the foundation being their stunning Carrara marble Bath House and Hammam. Time spent here allows one to be surrounded by water therapies from around the world including an Herbal Steam Room, Dry Heat Sauna, Stimulating Swiss Shower, Cool Mist Room, Aqua Massage Vitality Pool, and Warm Marble Bellystone.

Other services are performed in beautifully appointed suites featuring a private restroom, changing and vanity area, steam shower, soaking tub and treatment area. They even have a convenient duet suite with side-by-side soaking tubs and treatment tables, allowing guests to partake in most services with a friend or loved one.

If the spa isn’t enough to keep you fully occupied and relaxed, one feature of Glenmere that is not to be missed is their amazing gardens. Originally designed by Beatrix Farrand, America’s first female landscape architect, they cover the original estate’s 150 acres and are a modern tribute to traditional Italian gardens, full of terraced vistas and fountains.

I don’t know about you, but I am beginning to relax already just thinking about all this magnificent estate has to offer!

Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa

Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa is a 75 acre Hudson River Valley estate offering a remarkable selection of lodgings, a farm-to-table restaurant, an organic kitchen garden and orchard, a world-class spa, gardens, trails and an animal sanctuary. Did anyone one say…relaxation?

Not only can you visit the spa and delight in any number of massages (I counted 12 different kinds!), body therapies, Facials, and nail therapies, but you can also order your spa lunch, and indulge in the solar-powered dry sauna, eucalyptus steam room or geothermally heated endless pool. If you are feeling up to it after your spa visit, head on over to Millstone Farm and check out the animals, gardens, and orchard.

Emerson Resort & Spa

Emerson Resort & Spa

Boasting the World’s largest kaleidoscope, this top Hudson Valley destination is more than just dancing shapes and pretty colors. As a pet owner, I love the fact that they are dog-friendly with their own dog park, available “Pupgrade” featuring a doggy welcome basket, and even have a special doggy menu at the onsite Woodnotes Grille restaurant. WHAT!? That is awesome! But wait, there’s more!

The full-service Spa at Emerson Resort includes all your standard luxury spa offerings as well as a few unique packages that really help it stand out from the pack. The Tarot card and Chakra balancing package is the first of those. According to Emerson, your 90-minute session finds the source of your ailment through a Tarot Card reading and then unlocks your body’s Chakras to help create synergy between the mind, body, and spirit. The second truly unique offering from Emerson is their CBD (cannabidiol) Pain Relief package meant to soothe and target aching muscles and joints with this FDA-registered topical medication.

Now, if for some reason, you haven’t fulfilled your every desire at the spa, restaurants or numerous indoor and outdoor walks and activities, don’t fret. There is still that time-honored classic  American pass time available here that is sure to satisfy your last itch…shopping! With 6 different shops available, you are sure to find a wonderful memento to take home from your stay. Now, what could be better than that, Hudson Valley?
