I…am a dog mom. Finding things to do with my furry friends is an ongoing adventure. It mostly consists of going for walks, if I am up to it and the weather allows, going for hikes, or finally, going to the dog park. Luckily, I live near the wonderful Paw Park at the Yorktown Sylvan Glen Park Preserve. This large paw park opened in 2014 and is approximately 1.3 acres of land fenced off within Sylvan Glen with approximately .4 acres for small dogs and approximately .9 acres for large dogs. The Park is open from dawn to half an hour after dusk.
It is a great place to come let the dogs run and play off-leash. There are a lot of trees to keep the sun off your head in the summer, but make sure to bring your bug spray! I have found my guys also love going out on the multitude of trails in the preserve after getting to run and let off steam in the dog park.
So, if you live close enough to check out this park, I definitely recommend it. Don’t forget to check out the trails!
