Spring Softball is Back at Yorkville Sports Association

Can you remember the last time you played softball, or any sort of team sport? If you are like me, then that was high school, many moons ago! If you have ever had the urge to try sports as an adult but didn’t know how to go about it, or if you already know you love participating in local sports, then you will be happy to know that the pandemic hold on all things fun and “team-based” is finally over! At least at one local sports organization based out of Yorktown Heights, NY.

The Yorkville Sports Association has been organizing corporate team leagues in the metropolitan area for more than 41 years. They offer everyone the opportunity to play on a league with leagues both in New York City and Westchester. Their multisport roster includes competitive league play in Softball, Flag Football, Golf, and Kickball. No matter what your skill levels, they have something for everyone.

This year, as we come out of the pandemic and try to regain some semblance of normality, they have created two new Individual Open Play options to ease the transition.

“We understand that many companies are still not back to regular work yet and will not be ready for corporate team play in 2022.” says Al Morales, President at Yorkville Sports Association. “We created the Individual Play Programs to give individuals and fans of league play an easy way back to playing on their own, without needing a team as well as an option that does not require a large time commitment.”

Not only does the individual sign-up work for those who may be interested but are not on a team, but their pickup game option ensures even those with limited time can play when they are able.  And, even better, they have leagues for men, women, and those over 50.  Check out the specifics below.

The Individual Play Program will have two options.

OPTION ONE – PICKUP GAMES

For Only $135 for the Spring, Summer, and Fall Season, players can come out and play when they have the availability. It’s all the fun without the commitment! This option is limited to 15 games over the three-season time-period.

OPTION TWO – FREE AGENT

The free agent option pays the same $135 to get placed on a team for one of our seasons. This is all you pay for the entire season and includes a team shirt and a full season of regular play.

The YSA Individual Play Programs are currently available starting with the Spring Softball Season. Registration for the 2022 Spring Softball Season is open until April 1, 2022. For more information on YSA Individual Play Programs, visit their website here.

For those who may not be sure if it is the right fit for them, there will also be free Open Play games starting in April where players can show their skills to team managers looking to recruit, or simply try it out and see if they would like to sign up for the pickup games program. The full calendar of Open Play games with times and locations is below. Game play is free, but players must register on their website.

Thursday, April 7th: 6:00 p.m. at Downing Park
