I originally came to NY to work on a horse farm for a year in Bedford. I lived and worked on the stunning 300-acre property in the heart of the town. Working there I got to meet famous actors, diplomats, and a Sherpa from Tibet. It was one of the most difficult, yet inspiring years of my life. The land and the community made such an impact on me, that after leaving the NY Area for a few years, I eventually returned to the Hudson Valley and have lived here ever since. I have moved around a lot in my life, but the sheer variety of both landscape and activity, along with the culture of living so near one of the greatest cities on Earth, is what has kept me in the Hudson Valley.
I love exploring, the more I do it, the more I realize how much I still have not seen just within the Hudson Valley. I created the website to help us all explore it together, to create personal experiences, meet new people, and find new places and things to love.
As an artist, business owner, and resident myself, I was also looking for a way to give back to and support the community. On my own path of exploration, I run into many local businesses, artists, crafters, and makers doing great things for us here in the Hudson Valley. So, we promote and support them by sharing their profiles, products, art, and music with people who may not know they are out there and giving you the opportunity to purchase from them directly through the Market. These people are the backbone of our community and we should support them!
I hope you will come along on this journey with me, and even strike up a conversation. While I tell you about my experiences, I also want to hear about yours. Together, we can tell the world why iHeart Hudson Valley.
